Mark Ordesky

Mark Lowell Ordesky (born April 22, 1963 in Sacramento County, California, U.S.) is an American film executive and producer. In 1985, he graduated from the USC Annenberg School for Communication with a degree in print journalism and was a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity.

A lifelong fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's novels, Mark Ordesky was an early champion of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and, as an executive producer of all three films, played a key role in their production.

In 1996, he helped successfully introduce Jackie Chan to U.S. audiences with the breakout hit Rumble in the Bronx.

In 1998, following the acquisition of the Oscar-winning Shine, Ordesky began a five-year tenure as president of Fine Line Features, then the speciality-film division of New Line Cinema.
