Mark Ladbrook

Mark Ladbrook is an Australian track and field male athlete born on 1972-02-06. He specialised in the 200m and the 400m.

Ladbrook represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta, USA, Olympics in the 400m and the 4x400m. He came 5th in his 400m heat and his 4x400m team made the semis - finishing 12th place overall. He also competed in the 1995 World Championships in Athletics - Goteborg, Sweden in the 4x400 where his team came third but did not progress to the final, the 1993 & 1995 World University Games in which he was a semi-finalist in the 200m and 400m.

He was crowned the Australian 400m champion in 1996 in a time of 45.78e, a great run in the rain, and second in the 200m with 21.11e behind Dean Capobianco (who subsequently tested positive 2months later and was banned for 2years). He was the winner of the 1994 Bay Sheffield Gift in Adelaide and Stawell Gift Finalist in 2000.

Ladbrook has coached Olympic athletes Michael Hazel - Sydney 2000, 4x400m Relay, Finalist; Lauren Hewitt, 200m - Athens 2004; Casey Vincent 400m - Athens 2004. He has also worked as a Track & Field Coach with the Victorian Institute of Sport, a Strength & Conditioning Coach with the Australian Rugby Union and has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sports Coaching.
