Mark Kratzmann

Mark Kratzmann (born May 17, 1966 in Murgon, Queensland, Australia) is a former tennis professional turned cricketer. He was ranked as high as No. 5 in the world in doubles on the ATP Tour during his tennis career, first achieving that ranking on April 16, 1990. Kratzmann was the world's top ranked junior tennis player in 1984, ayear in which he won the Australian , Wimbeldon and US Open Junior Opens. He narrowly missed the Junior Grand Slam, when Swede Kent Carlsson defeated him in the French Open Junior final at Roland Garros.
Kratzmann won 18 doubles titles in his career, the biggest coming at the ATP Masters Series events in Cincinnati (1986 & 1990) and Stuttgart (1993). (Stuttgart later moved to Madrid.)
He also reached 12 doubles finals including the Australian Open in 1989, Cincinnati in 1994 and Rome in 1992 & 1993.

After retiring from tennis he began playing cricket. He had previously represented Queensland at the game as a 12 year old, playing once against a New South Wales side consisting of the Waugh twins.
Kratzmann moved to Hong Kong in 2003 where he originally worked as a tennis coach at the Hong Kong Jockey Club. He switched organisations and starting coaching the Hong Kong Cricket Club and starting playing for the 'Scorpions'. After a season where he scored 8 centuries as opener, he won the Hong Kong Cricket Association's Player of the Year award for 2005-06. In May 2007, he was selected in the national squad to participate in an ICC World Cricket League division three tournament in Darwin, having been granted Hong Kong residency.[1]
