Marissa Perry

Marissa Perry is an American actress and singer.

Perry has been portraying Tracy Turnblad in the Broadway production of the musical Hairspray since April 2008. Perry had been playing Tracy at the Weston Playhouse in Vermont, when the writers of Hairspray, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman saw her and encouraged her to audition for the Broadway production. She was cast as the understudy for the role shortly thereafter. Perry appeared in earlier regional theatre productions, including the world premiere of Princesses at Goodpeed and at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, and Wild Mushrooms at Seven Angels Theatre.[1]
