Marilyn Rasmussen Democrat. Washington State Senator from the 2nd District of Pierce and Thurston Counties. Served six years in the House of Representatives. Chairs the Agriculture & Rural Economic Development Committee, and also serves on the Early Learning, K-12 & Higher Education Committee, the Ways & Means Committee and co-chairs the Select Committee on Veteran and Military Affairs. Born and raised in the north end of Seattle and attended the University of Washington. She is a farmer, former school board member and is active in youth, community and agricultural organizations. She owns and operates a 360 acre family beef and timber farm near Eatonville. She has seven children and 18 grandchildren.
