Marian Konieczny

Marian Konieczny (born January 13, 1930) is a Polish sculptor.
A 1954 graduate of the Akademia Sztuk Pięknych w Krakowie (Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts) in Kraków, Konieczny was a student of Xawery Dunikowski.
Konieczny himself was a professor and rector of the Academy from 1972 to 1981.
Author of many notable monuments, such as the Warsaw Nike (pl:Warszawska Nike). Recipient of Polonia Restituta in 2000.
