Maria Houkli (Greek: Μαρία Χούκλη) is a Greek journalist. She was born in Serrai (Σέρρες), Northern Greece. She is a Law School graduate of the University of Salonica, and worked as a lawyer for two years.
In 1987 she began her career on ERT3, “built it up” on private TV channels and in 2000 she returned to the national television. She ran a show about books "For a place in the library", a show about the correct use of the Greek language - "Speak Greek?", and by the end of 2007. she was chosen to be the coordinator of the debate between the political leaders, before the elections in September. She has also worked as a radio speaker.
Today, she works as the central News Anchor on the national television.
Her name has become the synonym of reliability in informing, but also of the correct speech in journalism. She has been chosen many times as the "Journalist-Presenter of News of the year".
