Maria Ho (born March 6, 1983 in Taipei, Taiwan) is a professional poker player who lives in Arcadia, California.[1] Maria was the last woman standing in the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event, out of a field of 6,358 players.[2]

Maria moved with her family to the United States when she was 4 years old. After a short stint in Syracuse, New York, her family settled in Arcadia in 1988. Maria attended high school at Sacred Heart, where she was a cheerleader. In 2001, Maria started college at University of California San Diego, and majored in mass communications. She graduated in June 2005, and traveled the country and the world for a year. In 2006, she moved back to Arcadia. She currently lives there and hones her poker playing skills at the Commerce Casino.

Before turning poker pro, Maria's interests were primarily in the performing arts. She played several instruments, including piano and the violin, and loved to sing and dance. While she was in college, she had plans to attend law school and become a lawyer after her undergraduate education. She enjoys anything and everything that drives her competitive nature, and has always found a knack for card games.[1] Maria has always had big dreams and ambitions, and plans to pursue other endeavors and interests outside of poker in the near future.[1]

Maria started playing poker in 2002, in various Indian casinos in San Diego County when attending college. To date, she has cashed in poker tournaments a total of eight times and her career winnings exceed $270,000.[3]

As a result of her earning at the 2007 WSOP Main Event, She is rank 43rd in the Top 100 Women's All Time Money List.[4]
