Maria Goretti was born on 26 January 1972 in Vasai, India. She was an MTV VJ before marrying actor Arshad Warsi

She married actor Arshad Warsi on 14 February 1999. Their first child Zeke Zidaan was born on August 10, 2004 in Mumbai, India.

She made an appearance with her son Zeke in the film Salaam Namaste which also starred her husband. She also acted in Raghu Romeo (2003) which was directed by Rajat Kapoor.

She was named after Saint Maria Goretti.

Their love story began when Arshad met Maria in 1991, at St. Xavier's Malhar festival. "I was invited to Malhar to judge a dance competition where I noticed this lovely girl with a cute smile from St. Andrew's College, who was also participating in the competition and I fell in love with her. But if I have my facts right, it wasn't love at first sight," begins Arshad with a smile. She was in college in 1991.

"After the show Arshad came up to me and asked me if I would like to join his dance troupe, but I refused," says Maria. "Three months later I met him again through a common friend and we gradually became friends. He even convinced me to join his dance troupe."
