Marco Santori (1645-1672) was a 17th century poet and cartographer. Sometimes referred to as Marcoso Giudici, after his native village in Italy, he was murdered while on a mapping exhibition of modern-day Turkey. His most notable achievement was the creation of a trail through the Western region of the French Alps in 1669 with explorer Alfonso Madurici for whom the trail was named until its collapse in 1912.
