Marcel Witeczek (born October 18, 1968) is a German former football player of Polish descent. An attacking midfielder or forward, Witeczek was a successful youth player, representing West Germany at youth level. He earned runners-up medals at both the 1985 Under-16 World Championship, and 1987 World Youth Championship, winning the Golden Shoe at the latter tournament. At club level, he began his career with Bayer Uerdingen, moving on to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 1991 and Bayern Munich two years later. This was the most successful period of his career, winning two German titles and the UEFA Cup, before he left for Borussia Mönchengladbach. In his second season at Gladbach, the club were relegated, but he stayed with the club as they bounced back two years later. He left for SG Wattenscheid 09 in 2003, where he spent two years before retiring from the game. However, he returned to active football a year later, playing in the Landesliga (Level 5) for FC Albstadt 07 before retiring for good.
