[edit] National Football League Career
He was selected with the 29th overall pick of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears out of Boston College.
Colombo's entire career with Chicago was injury-plagued, and the Bears released him in 2005.
Colombo joined the Dallas Cowboys after his release from the Bears and had a successful regular season in which he started all 16 games and allowed only 1 sack. He also started in the Cowboys only postseason game. He was resigned by the Cowboys in 2007 to a $7 million deal that included a $4 million dollar signing bonus.
