Mail steamer Mariposa leaving Auckland harbour, Auckland in 1880s. A paddle steamer, possibly a ferry to/from Devonport, crossing in the foreground.

Extended information on origin webpage reads: Schell, Frederic B, d. 1905 / Mail steamer leaving Auckland [Sydney; Picturesque Atlas Publishing Co. Ltd., 1886] / Reference number: A-109-008 1 b&w art print(s). Wood engraving, 7 x 11 in. / Drawings and Prints Collection / Scope and contents: A paddle steamer, possibly the Devonport ferry arriving in the harbour, while a large liner to the right (the Mariposa) is drawing out from the wharf, with smoke pouring from its funnel and is probably the mail steamer referred to in the title.
