Maota (Saleologa) Airport is the main Domestic Airport which serves Savai'i Island, Samoa to Upolu Island, Samoa and Asau in the Northern end of Savai'i. It is located 10 minutes away from the Island Capital, Salelologa. It is a new refurbished Airport which has been operated since the early 90's.
This Airport only has only proper but short Runway which can only handle Twin Otters and other small passenger Aircraft. There is a reasonable Tarmac that could actually fit one Boeing 737 Aircraft. The Terminal however is small. An all open Fale has been used as the structure of the Airport Terminal.
The Terminal is equipped with all Modern Structures. It has a Departure and Arrival Lounge, a few Cafe and Stores inside and Outside The Terminal, It has Public Facilities and it has a small Internet Cafe. The NBS and ANZ Bank serve this Airport and it's only open for Day flights only, However there's ATM's open for use 24/7.
Planes are forbbidden to land or take off at night due to a lack of lighting. A small Watch Tower exists, however it still needs assistance from the main base in Faleolo.
Polynesian Airlines
Polynesian Airlines serves Maota Airport to Faleolo, Asau and Pago Pago. A weekly Inter-Island Aircraft visits Maota weekly and it takes Savai'ians in and out of Pago Pago.
