[edit] Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:Iwucommunicationscenter.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Summer 480.jpg. The copy called Image:Summer 480.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 09:29, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Robert A. Schuller article

Tatepotato (talk) 21:55, 29 January 2008 (UTC)There have been complaints in the past about the factuality of said section. As per Wikipedia's bias criteria, Criticism will not be protected by vandalism regulations. For the time being, the previous version of Criticism has been restored and it is my advice that you fix this section by taking out words that could constitute bias. It is also recommended that you remove sections in which terms such as "many see/believe" or another over-generalized term to refer to a large body of people is used to mask personal bias, as this is in violation of Wikipedia's objectiveness statutes. It has come to my attention that you were also the proprietor of the Criticism section that was formerly part of the Robert H. Schuller article. Unfortunately, Robert A. Schuller's Criticism section does not meet the criteria for deletion protection for the same reasons as that of Robert H. Schuller. As you may have noticed, the article in itself is very broken in that it is strewn with biased conjectures (as well as over-generalized references to a large body of people). Therefore, it is my advice that you work out any problems over the article with the other users, rather than undoing edits and threatening other users. Also, please read Wikipedia's etiquette section, as unfounded threats are strictly forbidden. User: ILRASI's actions do not constitute vandalism. However, I must remind you that vandalism works both ways. Enough people have filed complaints about the Criticism section for undoing changes to the Criticism section to constitute as vandalism. If you do not want to change the Criticism section in order to avoid bias and nonobjective terms, then please do not impede the efforts of others, as it is possible that you may be reported yourself. I personally will not be watching this article, as I personally cannot support any of the statements/conjectures in the article with sources, but since you seem to have some degree of dedication to the article, I encourage you and the other users to change it to avoid bias, and as always, cite sources!

[edit] Picture of David Beckham

I've reverted the picture of David Beckham back to the one of him in his England shirt, because at least that one gives the reader an idea of what he looks like (though I admit it's not the best quality).

However, I suggest that the pic you uploaded would be best placed in the part of the article on his LA Galaxy career, probably in the paragraph where it mentions his first goal for the club. I would have done it, but every time I try to add pics to articles, I seem to screw them up. Darkson (Yabba Dabba Doo!) 10:47, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

I've removed the pic again, as the pics not out-dated (he's still an England player), and the pic you're trying to replace it with isn't really of any better quality.
Rather than get into a pointless edit war, why not discuss this on the talk page? Darkson (Yabba Dabba Doo!) 22:35, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
I havve however managed to add it to the LA Galaxy section. Darkson (Yabba Dabba Doo!) 22:41, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Beckhamsi.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Beckhamsi.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] David Beckham

Woah dude, calm down with the edits. The picture depicting someone in the infoxbox is meant to be the person only, not a magazine cover. I'm not gonna change it, I'll leave that to you, but there will be someone undoing most of your edits. — jacĸrм (talk) 04:24, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

User:Muchness reverted it under WP:NFCC (and see below). Why are you so keen to change the pic, without at least discussing it (as I asked a few days ago)? Darkson (Yabba Dabba Doo!) 10:14, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Beckhamsi.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Beckhamsi.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Muchness 10:10, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Elmbrook Church

I noticed that you added a note about Elmbrook Church on the Brookfield, Wisconsin page. Since that church is, in fact, not in the City of Brookfield, I removed it. Elmbrook Church is in the Town of Brookfield. (ref.: http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/DocumentView.asp?DID=706). Merenta 18:29, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Biola Trivia

Thanks for the expansion Biola's Trivia section. I've always wondered what happened to the building. That's a prime piece of real estate. I believe ARCO tower is located there now. Biola should have held on to that property for much longer and then REALLY rake in the dough! That's some great info, but could you provide a reference? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 221.154.11.151 (talk) 03:15, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

I got it from the Dr. Gene Scott page. -englandfan7 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Manutdglory (talkcontribs)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Main-buildfuture.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Main-buildfuture.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 01:45, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mel Lawrenz

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Mel Lawrenz, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.elmbrook.org/articlelink.asp?iid=1969. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:16, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

Hello, I noticed your note on WikiProject Universities about the vandalism on Indiana Wesleyan University. The proper place to report vandalism is at Administrator intervention against vandalism. That page is monitored constantly and you will quickly receive help in dealing with the vandals. Please let me know if you have any questions or need anymore help. KnightLago (talk) 14:17, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Additionally, if the IP vandalism continues to occur regularly you can request page protection at Requests for page protection. Again, if you have questions feel free to ask. KnightLago (talk) 14:20, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Elmbrook Church Location - Again

The City of Brookfield, Wisconsin may well be "posh", but Elmbrook Church isn't there; it's in Brookfield (town), Wisconsin; in fact, my references are on this page from another recent time that you made this mistake. I corrected a few errors you introduced about that location; please don't change it back until the City annexes the property. Thanks. Merenta (talk) 22:18, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thune

Hi, thanks for clearing up that religion thing at John Thune. It's way out of my area of expertise and your reasoning seems sound to me. Kaisershatner (talk) 23:26, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

But the fact that he presumably stated he was/is a committed Christian in order to go to Biola does not prove that he and his wife are currently active evangelicals. I'm not saying they aren't, I assume they are, I'm just saying your reasoning isn't exactly right, and the fact tag should go back IMO. Kaisershatner (talk) 02:48, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Indiana Wesleyan Trivia

I've removed the trivia section from Indiana Wesleyan University per WP:Trivia. Please do not revert my edits. If you find a way to add in the notable, non-POV statements back into the article somewhere, please feel free. Thanks. -- JTHolla! 15:09, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] April 2008

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Indiana Wesleyan University, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Again, Trivia sections are not allowed. Please do not add them back in. Thank you. -- JTHolla! 03:34, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of Calvary baptist school. This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming an article is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Ashanda (talk) 07:04, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
