This page is intended to help keep track of my work on the Lighthouses Wikiproject. You are welcome to update it to reflect work you've done.

My current program is to make a decent article on all lights in Maryland and Virginia. I've Finished the former and am working on the latter. For each article I'd like to have:

  • An infobox
  • An image (current if possible)
  • Accurate coordinates, checked against online mapping services
  • A capsule history

I'm also listing certain standard references:

  • deGast's Lighthouses of the Chesapeake

I've omitted the Chesapeake Chapter of the United States Lighthouse Society website from the table because in my experience it basically duplicates the USCG pages (they were written by the same people). Please suggest other references on the Talk page.

  1. ^ "Yes" means image is substantially current in appearance; "Old" means image represents older state; "Hist" is like "old" for no longer extant structures.
  2. ^ Coordinates are given to four places when maps show structure, three places when they don't. "Approx" means structure cannot be seen on current maps/photos; "Unverif" means coordinates have been deduced but could not be checked against maps/photos; "GE" is verified against Google Earth; "TS" is verified against Terraserver USA; "MT"' is verified from nautical charts on Maptech.

I'm also trying to monitor List of tallest lighthouses in the United States and update it. To do this, I'm compiling a table of the tallest lights in each state.
