This article has Manikato accredited with 21 Group 1 wins "by todays standards".
However Manikato is usually attributed with 11 Group 1 wins.

The William Reid Stakes / Australia Stakes that Manikato won 5 times (1979 - 1983) was not given Group 1 status until 1987 and is listed in the Austrlian Stud Book as Group 2 in 4 of Manikato's wins 1980 to 1983 inclusive.

The C F Orr Stakes that Manikato won 3 times (1979 - 1981) was not given Group 1 status until 1993 and is listed in the Austrlian Stud Book as Group 2 in 1980 onwards.

The Freeway Stakes (later Manikato Stakes that Manikato won twice ( times (1979, 1982) was not given Group 1 status until 1989 and is listed in the Austrlian Stud Book as a Group 2 in both Manikatos wins.
