Quote from the Manda book ( Neville Chittick), p. 3:
"According to von der Decken (1871, II, p.276) Manda [town] was finally abandoned after it was destroyed in 1806 by Fum´ Alote (Fumo Luti), Sultan of Pate; I have seen no other reference to this event"
- Decken, C. von der (1869 and 1871) Reisen in Ost-Afrika in den Jahren 1959 bis 1861, 2 vols. I: 1969, II:: 1871. Leipzig.
...and this really doesn´t fit with Rulers of Pate; it say that Fumo Luti ruled from 1813-1818. (Of course, we still lack sources for Rulers of Pate), Regards, Huldra 23:01, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
