A manqabat is a Qawwali or Sufi devotional song, in praise of the final Rightly Guided Caliph and Commander of the Faithful, 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, a famous Companion of the Prophet Muhammad. The most famous Manqabat, which is sung at all functions, is "Mun kunto Maula" by Amir Khusrau, sung in praise of 'Ali. This Manqabat has been performed by many famous singers and Qawwals including Legendary Fareed ayaz,Qawwal Bahauddin and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
