Mannal is a surname of German origin. The name is a variant of the Biblical manna, a chest made of acacia wood and overlaid with pure gold intended to hold three items: a golden pot of manna, Aaron's staff, and the two stone tablets upon which the Ten Commandments were written. In the modern era, there are fewer than a dozen families worldwide with the surname Mannal.
