Manimou Camara (b. Commune de Matam, Conakry Region, Guinea, July 1978) is a master drummer from the West African nation of Guinea. Manimou specializes in several percussive instruments, namely the wine-glass shaped hand drum called djembe, three bass drums called Dundun, Sangban, and Kenkeni as well as the Kringni. July 2007 He is the founder of Dounia Djembe, a Seattle based percussion and dance company. He is a member of the Guerze ethnic group, a people located in Guinea's forest region.
Manimou began playing djembe at the age of twelve and has since been in Ballet Saamato, Baga Percussion, and Kemoko Sanos, renowned Merveille de Guinee.
