Manchuria (region)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Manchuria is a region of North East Asia, which historically has been inhabited by the Jurchen peoples (Manchu/Manchurian). It lies east of Greater Mongolia, north of Korea (region), in the north-east of China. It can be considered as part of Outer China. Until the Qing Dynasty, the region had a separate identity, but it is now subsumed under the Russian Far East and Chinese Manchuria, where Jurchen are no longer the dominant group.
