The Trans-Pennine Express Traincare Facility based at Ardwick, Manchester. Siemens spent over £28 million for the traincare depot at Ardwick in Manchester. The facility is being built to service the new Desiro trains that Siemens is currently building for First TransPennine Express. It is also A depot for Virgin Pendolino's.

Manchester has been nominated as a finalist in the Quality in Construction Awards to be held at the Hilton Hotel, London. The project has been submitted to the Medium Project of the Year Award category and has been judged assessing criteria such as design excellence, innovation, management best practice and team work. The Trans-Pennine Express Traincare Facility was designed to service the new Siemens Desiro trains for the Trans-Pennine Express rail franchise. The depot comprises a 4 road maintenance shed including 2 storey offices, workshop and stores, a train wash facility with undercarriage wash and CET/refuelling platforms. The project was designed for Siemens Transportation Systems with a value of £28 million. RPS Burks Green acted as lead consultant completing both the engineering and architectural services for the project.
