Man-Made Monster was a science fiction horror film released by Universal Pictures in 1941 (see 1941 in film).[verification needed] The film stars Lon Chaney Jr. in his horror debut. Chaney reprised this role in the remake The Indestructible Man (1956). The film was released under various titles including Electric Man and The Mysterious Dr. R. On the 1953 re-release of the film, it was released under the title of The Atomic Monster.[citation needed]
[edit] Plot
A tragic bus accident has claimed the lives of all of the passengers on board, except for Dan McCormick (Lon Chaney Jr.), who survived the accident because he was mysteriously immune to electricity. Mad scientist Dr. Paul Rigas (Lionel Atwill) gives McCormick a higher dose of electricity, which gives McCormick the touch of death; he could kill anyone he touched by electrocution. McCormick is later sent to the electric chair, but he survives. He continues his killing spree until he runs out of electricity and dies.
