Category talk:Management consulting firms

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Why are some firms on this page alphabetized and some not? I tried to edit, but I don't know how to get it right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.49.94.240 (talk • contribs)

To change the letter under which an article is categorised, you must edit that article. Specifically, you must pipe the link to "" at the bottom of the article. For instance, if you want "Grant Thornton" to appear under the letter T, you would change "" to "". If you do not pipe the link, the article is automatically alphabetised based on the first letter of the title. [edit] Far too many self-promoters here

The majority of the firms listed here are minor, local players at best, and appear to be placed by PR departments or workers. I've started to clean up the category page to reflect the more recognized firms (first and second tier).

Categories are not organised on the basis of "tiers", but rather for the purpose of grouping together related articles. Regardless of whether management consulting firms are minor or major, classifying them in this category is appropriate as it is descriptive. I am reverting most your edits, except those related to Digital Business and Digital intelligence. -- Black Falcon 03:33, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Some missing firms

I see here most of the famous Management Consulting firms. but some important ones are missing. for example there is no mention of "Pricewaterhouse Coopers" or IBM. I don't know how to add them to this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Axiomofnochoice (talk • contribs)

Even Ernst & Young is missing! -- —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.49.90.120 (talk • contribs)

If those firms already have articles, you can add them to this category by typing "Category:Management consulting firms" at the bottom of the article. Firms which do not currently have articles on Wikipedia cannot be categorised. Hope this helps. -- Black Falcon 03:46, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
