Hooooola,
Básicamente se resume todo en que wikipedia no confía en el contenido que aporten las compañías. Por ejemplo, si la única fuente de información de Coca-Cola es la página web de Coca-Cola y lo que escriban los empleados de Coca-Cola, todo eso iría a la basura. Eso se llama "conflicto de interés" y te lo explican muy bien en la wikipedia española, en WP:COI.
Otra parte es lo de las fuentes fiables. Una página web de una empresa no es una fuente fiable. Un blog no es una fuente fiable. Ocho tipos de catálogos de viaje (con tiradas de millones), sí son fuentes fiables. Vistazo a WP:V.
En otras palabras: para cualquier cosa que escribas, asegúrate de que no eres tú (o tu empresa) quien lo dice, sino que te limitas a copiar información que aparece en otros medios (prensa, televisión, catálogos). Evita hablar en superlativo ("the best hotel chain", "the biggest hotel in Majorca") si no puedes demostrar esas afirmaciones.

Entiende que esto no se hace a mala leche, se hace para evitar que las empresas, pequeñas o grandes, se hagan autobombo sin control alguno.
