[edit] Population

The infobox says 11,890 but then the intro says "The town contains the offices of Ryedale District Council and has a population of around 4,000 people". Does anyone know which is correct? (My guess is that the 11,890 figure is for Ryedale District but I don't want to change anything without checking.) Yorkshire Phoenix (talkcontribs) 14:45, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Ryedale district definitely has more than either of those figures. I find one cite saying 4000 : maybe the larger one is for the entire urban area also including Norton, North Yorkshire? Morwen - Talk 14:48, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Advertisement

"Kinderset Early Years Nursery School" is a private enterprise and certainly not the only or the most important/famous educational establishment in the town. Its inclusion here sounds like an advertisement and not worthy of entry into an encyclopedia. --Shakujo 09:33, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

I've amended it. Twoquidtunes 07:44, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
