Malik Fathi (born October 29, 1983 in Berlin) is a German football player of Tunisian (paternal) and Turkish (maternal) descent who currently plays for Russian FC Spartak Moscow.
In 2001–2008 he has played as a defender for Hertha BSC Berlin. On 12 March 2008 he signed for Spartak.[1] Before beginning his football career he played tennis for Hertha Zehlendorf Berlin and for Borussia Berlin. He also plays basketball in his spare time.
He represented Germany Under-20 team at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship, Germany Under-21 team at European under-21 championship 2006 and earned his first cap for the German national team on August 16, 2006 in a friendly against Sweden.
