Malcolm Earl Tann, born August 20, 1978 in Seaboard, NC, is an American boxer and was once a highly touted prospect in the heavyweight division.

[edit] Amateur career

In 2002 Tann became National Golden Gloves Super Heavyweight Champion beating among others massive Nathaniel James.

[edit] Professional career

Due to his imposing size and skill, many thought he'd be a future champion, but his career hasn't been a success as of yet. Tann won his first eight bouts, including a win over journeyman Clifford Couser in 2003, but was dropped and shockingly decisioned by unheralded Willie Chapman that same year. In 2004 he beat Jason Gavern and in 2005 beat Derek Bryant, but later in the year had another shocking defeat, to Domonic Jenkins via decision. In his most recent bout, in May of 2007 on ShoBox, Tann was knocked out by rising heavyweight Chris Arreola and Alexander Dimitrenko.
