من مجید نقدی متولد نوزدهم مرداد سال 1339 تهران فعالیت عکاسی خود را از 10 سالگی با خرید اولین دوربین عکاسی خود با مارک آگفا آغاز نموده و علاقه من بعد از دیدن اولین عکسهای گرفته شده ام چندین برابر شد بصورتیکه تعطیلات تابستانی را در یک عکاس در خیابان ناصرخسرو بعنوان پادو شروع کردم و گاهی بنابر کنجکاوی و عشق به عکاسی و چاب آن در تاریکخانه عکاس محل کارم شروع به تجربه چاپ عکس نمودم . در دوران راهنمایی با تشویق و راهنمایهای استاد حرفه وفن که ایشان خود در ظهور و چاپ عکس استاد بودند شروع به عکاسی و چاپ حرفه ای تر نمودم . چون پولی برای خرید آگراندیسمان نداشتم نگاتیو را مستقیما روی کاغذ گذاشته و نور میدادم تا اینکه با استفاده از یک قوطی فلزی که داخل آن را رنگ مشکی زده و یک استوانه و یک زره بین و لامپ توانستم آگراندیسمنی ابتدایی برای خود داشته باشم در گذشت زمان و خرید دوربین بهتری و با تحقیق و مطالعه و تجربه توانستم در عکاسی تجربههای زیادی بدست بیاورم
حدود 14 سالم بود که اولین دوربین رفلکس را خریدم و از همان زمان احساس کردم دنیای عکاسی حدومرزی ندارد و آنچه میخواستم میتوانستم تا اینکه دوربین کن.ن آ وان را دیدم آرزوی داشتن آن همیشه در وجودم بود تمام رویاهایم را در این دوربین میدیدم
به عکاس و چاپ ادامه میدادم به ساخت صحنه های غیر واقعی و عکاسی از آن و تخیلاتم ادامه میدادم در 15 درسالگی پدرم دوربین مورد علاقه من را که همان کنون آ وان بود را به من هدیه داد نمی توانم احساسم را به شما منتقل کنم فقط دنیایی زیبا بود و من و دوربینم برای ضبط تصاویر و چاپ آن و عکسی دیگر و چاپ و مطالعه و پرسو جو و کسب اطلاعات بیشتر بیشتر عکاسیهای میدان فوزیه سابق و خیابان ناصر و تهران نو و نارمک من را میشناختند خصوصا یک عکاسی بالای سینما مراد در میدان فوزیه بود که من از آنجا کاغذ و دارو تهیه میکردم و یک فروشگاه مواد شیمیایی در خیابان ناصرخسرو بود که داروی چاپ و ظهور میگرفتم خاطرات زیادی دارم روزها مگذشت و من هر زمان دنبال دوربین جدیدتر و کامل تر بودم وهستم چه در دوران دوربینهای آنالوگ و چه در حال حاظر و دنیای دیجیتال
