We should add following authentic maharashatrian dishes to this article:

Pithla Bhakri, Matki Ki Usal (masala sprouts), Thali pith (a spicy chickpea based pancake) and Alu chi Vadi (steamed and fried, sweet n' spicy leaves), Vatli Dal, Metkut and also add Amrakhand, bakarvadi, Kairiche Panhe etc. Info4all 18:19, 26 September 2006 (UTC)info4all

Another suggestion would be to add appropriate english names making it easier for other people to try out the dishes. Also a compilation of all dishes would be great and later these can be classified into sub topics

[edit] article needs major work

This article needs a lot of cleaning of language

  • To remove links to recipes
  • To remove flowery language like 'plump, juicy fruits' etc.
  • To remove lists of dishes and make it more of a cuisine page. Cuisine is 'style of cooking' and not a 'list of recipes'.

Also we don't need to talk about picnics and stuff like that.

Was the content copy pasted from some website giving information about culture of Maharashtra? The tone looks appropriate for that kind of content.

I have cleaned up language in a few places. I am going to clean the language to suit the tone of wikipedia. If somebody think it is inappropriate, I am here to discuss. --Kaveri 20:11, 13 August 2007 (UTC) It is writen that bhakari is main ly used in rural areas but now the prises of wheat are much lower than Jawar and Bajara so most people use eat poli only. If someone has verfiable claim then please change that part.--59.95.19.0 (talk) 13:15, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Arranged marraige

For the discussions of arranged marriage if both parties live on the same side of reaver then Bata Pohe are prepared and if they live on opposite sides Kanda Pohe is prepared by bride's side.--59.95.19.0 (talk) 13:21, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
