Maheka was a demon (or daemon, dæmon, or even daimon from the Greek ΔΑΪΜΟΝΑΣ / δαίμονας [ðaïmon / daewan / daeva])often spoken of in religion, folklore, and mythology as a supernatural being that has generally been described as a malevolent spirit, and in Christian terms it generally understood as an angel not following God (The Group Spirit of the Goth [رُوح الگُت]). Maheka is frequently depicted as a force that had been conjured and insecurely controlled by Hades, the ruler of Hell, after being cast from Heaven by Zeus. It was said that the demon Maheka was one of the guardians of Hell, and was the archetype for the modern day Grim Reaper, as he possessed the dying and caused them to commit suicide. He usually stayed with his victim until two days after their death, and it was believed that he couldn't leave until they died. Many reports of being possessed by a malevolent spirit, although never proven, the victims described the demon as having the name of Maheka. He's also frequently depicted as resembling the sabbatic demon of satanic religions; having the head of a ram and the body of a serpent and man.
Maheka was considered only half demon due to a wronged possession attempt. Other than legends of bonding, there isn't any recorded background on Maheka. He seemed to disappear from mythology in the early 1700's; about fifty years before the time of the first reported possession.
In the study of Greek mythology, it was found that the disappearance of Maheka was due to a faulty possession. Maheka was trying to possess a grieving widow when her son, Ra, embraced her, making Maheka possess him instead. Because Ra was only an adolescence at the time, Maheka was bonded inside of him until the day he died, at the age of ninety six. Maheka was said to have tried to convince him into death numerous times, but failed due to Ra's good-natured attitude towards life. Maheka was bonded to Ra for so long that when Ra died, Maheka went with him. Possessed victims of Maheka often mention a second, less malevolent being, which is believed to be Ra. The legend says that Maheka and Ra's spirits still wander to the grieving, dying and diseased.
Despite the efforts made, not much has been found concerning this topic.
