[edit] Basis of Article
Is there any idea in placing insect larvae in a wound other than, oh, perhaps Satanism? Yuck! Any maggots which were bred in the traditional way would bear germs that were inside the decaying matter in which they originally grew, thus implicating the medic as a sabateur, and rather malicious given the possibility of gangrene and other fundamental septic issues pertaining to unclean wounds. I would think this obvious. Furthermore, there are other insects which have actual behavior which might be cited by the delusional as helpful to the afflicted. However, I assure you that the afflicted care that these arguments be handled off the battlefield and in the company of psychiatrist who are at least as quacky!
^ You are just being ignorant... Maggot Therapy for more info.. especially the sourced section on recent clinical experience —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.10.154.43 (talk) 00:57, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Cleaning
What a mess, lets clean this up. Creating a maggot (disambiguation) and moving this mess over there. Will copy maggot info from the fly article over here to start a real maggot article. Perhaps more people can be bold and someone with more maggot knowledge can add to this article. I'll go ahead and do some research when I'm not half asleep and make the maggot article and fly more informative. Sabar 09:53, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sloppy mess
The whole article is a sloppy mess. Disambiguate where an article would be sought by the disambiguated term. Would someone type in "maggot" expecting to find Maggot Brain? Great album, with one of the best guitar solos ever recording, but not known by anyone as just "maggot." Would someone type it in and expect to find a slang pejorative? I very much doubt it. The entire page is a sloppy mess. We can make this simple. The disambiguation should be to a larval fly, and then to pejorative and slang. Wikipedia is not Wiktionary, and trying to stake private usages to a dab page is simply out of bounds. Geogre 13:44, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
I have now attempted to create an hierarchy here. Warning to contributors: Do not add dictionary meanings. The purpose of the page is to disambiguate Wikipedia articles, not to offer a definition. Geogre 18:26, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Created Maggot (disambiguation) as to allow maggot to actually contain some information on the insect. Sabar 10:04, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
Is there any real need to source the images in this article? Isn't that normally done on the image's page itself? Slokunshialgo 04:26, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
