Madurantakam is a town located in the Chingleput district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The town is about 2 hours drive away from Chennai (Madras).

Madurantakam is known locally for its famous temple dedicated to the Hindu god - [[Lord Rama]and Goddess Janakavalli]. Interestingly, the temple was built by a British citizen viz the then Chengleput Collector Lionel Plaze.

The reservoir near Madurantakam irrigates more than 1000 small villages in and around the town. The entire town was donated to Brahmins by Chola King, Uthamachola aka Maduranthaka Chola for chanding and preverving the four vedas. Therefore the village is known as Maduranthakachaturvedamangalam.
