Mad Jack the Pirate

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mad Jack the Pirate was a short lived 90's cartoon (1998) featuring only 13 episodes before being cancelled. On American television the show was broadcast on Fox Kids and was directed by Jeff DeGrandis and Bill Kopp (who were also writers to another short-lived FOX Kids show: Toonsylvania).

The concept is of the adventures of the rather unsuccessful and cowardly Pirate Jack (voiced by Bill Kopp) who despite his failures never doubts his own excellence and his dim-witted anthropomorphic rat sidekick Snuck (voiced by Jess Harnell) as they sail the seas on their ship the Sea Chicken.

Often noticed by fans and viewers of the show is its similarity to the BBC comedy series Blackadder. Similarities of the main characters: Jack to Edmund Blackadder and Snuck to Baldrick and even almost identical quotes from the series.
