[edit] picture

The picture is too scandalous.

I never understood why people called Macy Gray ugly. I think she's HOT! PennyGWoods 18:43, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Macy is awesome, her music is awesome. Music suffers if you write it to top charts, but it peaks when you write exactly what you want and people enjoy it. I didn't enjoy it, I LOVED IT JayKeaton 03:34, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hot 100 Chart Positions

I cannot find where most of these songs even charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The only two songs by Macy I can find debuting are "I Try" and "Request Line." Can somebody supply a reliable source for the chartings listed, or shall I alter them? GassyGuy 02:31, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

I usually go by billboard.com, which yielded this page for Macy Gray Singles. It only shows three charting singles ("Sexual Revolution", "I Try", and "Do Something" -- NOT "Request Line") and none of them match the article's table. I use this site for UK singles (couldn't direct link - just search on "Macy Gray") which also doesn't match. I say let's compare notes and be bold! Hoof Hearted 13:00, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
Aha! Many of the remaining singles are charted on billboard.com under the accompanying artists. Note that the album links in the table go to another group, not one of Gray's albums. Still, the peak positions do not match. It appears that an anon recently made some dubious changes. I propose breaking the singles table into two tables - one for Gray's own singles, and a second for singles which featured her. And I would go by the data on billboard.com and everyhit.com. Agreed? Sorry, I didn't have this page on my watchlist as I thought I did. Your changes are a big improvement. Thanks for that. I find billboard.com's chart summaries are not actually the best but they're certainly more accurate than the previous numbers. GassyGuy 13:05, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Birthyear

There is new dispute over Macy's birthyear. Was she born in 1970 (the most common year used across the internet, including IMDB), or 1967 (a date that I recently changed back to 1970 because no proof was offered)? Hotwine8 03:21, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Macy Gray has the ugliest voice I've ever heard in my life.

Her voice is part of her appeal. Anyway, we need to find some information about what she actually DID between Big and her last studio album four years before that one. Was she taking a break? Did she spend all that time writing the album? Honing her skills perhaps? Family problems? It is a gap that needs to be filled if we can find out what she did JayKeaton 23:49, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Macy Gray is awesome by kenyalover2003

I am a hard rock fan and always have been. However, when I first heard macy Gray's music I was immediately mesmerized by her vocals. I hope she continues in music and is around for a very long time.
