Talk:Macero Dominatus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello administrator, I'm a research student doing my PhD in the states. This article isn't about me or any of my friends, it has roots in the history of the Hungarian royal society, or so it seems from my research I did last summer in Budapest. I received some card in the mail about a month ago and it coincided with my research so I decided to put up what I know for others to gain information on the Macero Dominatus Order. I think this page is important as it could very well identify the first organization in middle-ageish Europe that has so far not been linked to violence in an effort to suppress tyranny and preserve human rights. If my research proves this true beyond a reasonable doubt, then I think it will have an important outcome for academia. It's also important to my own research interests to have this page up so that I may be able to start a discussion with (I assume others) that have been contacted. Why did I get this card? I don't know, and I'm sure there are others who feel the same way. I think something is happening here, and it has credible roots in the historical documents (mostly letters, and some personal diaries) that I noted by hand last summer in Budapest. Maybe this organization is trying to reform to contest imperialism...or anglo-american foreign policy, I simply don't know. I hope that you can see the value in keeping this article.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Count Christianson
- Wikipedia is not the place to publish your research for discussion, neither is it a forum for you to advance your own "research interests". Aside from the fact that your entire article contravenes the guidelines on OR (Wikipedia:No_original_research), Wikipedia deals in hard, referenced facts. Unless you properly reference your article with verifiable third-party sources, and significantly rewrite it including just facts and not what you *think* has happened, then your article will, in all likelihood, be deleted. Fine. I'll do that then.
I have deleted all of the "unacademic" remarks I previously provided. I suppose I did not regard wikipedia as a formal encyclopedia since citing the website is non-permissible in most universities. I concede that I approached the article in too personable of a fashion, maybe it was the coffee or my curiosity. I believe that the article passes inspection.
- The article still basically consists of research done by yourself, references to yourself throughout the piece, and no third-party sources. It reads like a set of personal research notes - which in effect is what it is. I don't mean to sound rude, and any offence is unintentional, but this is not an encyclopedic article, and as such doesn't belong on Wikipedia. VTSPOWER 11:54, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- There are third party sources, actually - they just weren't visible because the creater didn't make a reflist (an easy enough mistake for any new user to make). I've removed the CSD tag because this isn't a clear speedy. Issues like original research are best hashed out on the talk page or, if necessary, in an AfD discussion.
