[edit] Macedonia mention
"which (insofar as the Byzantines controlled it) was the Theme of Thessalonica which is a part of Macedonia (according to Constantine Porphyrogenitus)"
This is rather confusing because it does not specifically mention which Macedonia is the Theme of Thessalonica part of. Also, there were so many changes during the years regarding the themes and their borders as well as the borders of Macedonia geographical or Macedonia proper, I suggest that we take that part out as to avoid confusion.
