Mūsā ibn Shākir

Musa bin Shakir was a Persian[1][2] engineer and astronomer during the reign of Al-Ma'mun. His three children, the Banu Musa ("Sons of Musa"), were renowned scholars.

He had been a highwayman during his youth.
