I have just edited this article for English language errors and clarifications. The text as I found it seemed to have been literally translated from a French original.

I have also taken out the previous section on "Academical Conflict of 1830". It was very difficult to understand, quite obscure and definitely not on topic. At no point was it clear how the "conflict" fitted in with the menagerie.
