[edit] Spelling of name

His surname was spelled Zagalo until at least the 1970s. Can anyone find the reason for the change and add it to the article? Thanks. Jess Cully 12:37, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

It was spelled Zagalo until the 1990s, when one reporter asked him how he should spell it. The rest of the media quickly followed suit. Alex Bellos tells the story in his Futebol. Macgreco 03:13, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
