Hi, My son is 18 and starts college in september if all goes well he will be a student for at least another 4 years before he gets a proper job.He would like to get a flat and offset the mortgage with income received by flatsharing.Because he is in fulltime education his income is limited, but with two flatmates he could get by if they each provide £70/week.I am making an assumption that no lender will touch him. Are there any loans available where I could act as a Guarantor until he gets a proper job? I could up my mortgage and buy the flat, charge him rent until he gets a job and then sell it to him at whatever the costs are at that time. But I can't help feeling that Mr.Brown will assume I owe him for the pleasure of all the risks I have undertaken! Can anybody advise. Thanks.
