Talk:LWAPP

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm studying the CCNP BCMSN course and LWAPP is not the control protocol it is a tunneling method/protocol to allow the LAP's to connect to the WLC's. The Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS) is the name of the server application presenting a GUI to cover the functions mentioned in this article.

Well, I'm currently not studying CCNP, but I was currently sniffing the traffic, between APs and WLC, and while it also provides the tunneling as you said, it is also used to control the APs. It seems like almost all (or all?) communication between WLC and AP is through that protocol. So I think the "control" is a right term. 131.179.144.190 (talk) 20:50, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
