[edit] A rare disease?
2% of people carrying the gene is not that few - it implies one in 2500 people suffer from the disease. This is not particularly rare - are the facts correct? Yazza 21:00, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- Whoops, subsequent reflection has reminded me that one in 2500 is the likelihood that two carriers will have a baby, so it is a one in 10000 chance the baby will be a sufferer! But still, over 6000 sufferers in the UK is not particularly rare. Yazza 21:09, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
