Luke Brennan was recruited at pick 8 in the 2002 National Draft. After just 19 games in 4 seasons, he has struggled at the elite level. He played 10 games in a row during the middle part of the 2005 season but has since failed to recapture that form.
Brennan can play in different positions, but has had particular success as a spoiling defender and as a strong marking half forward.
Brennan was delisted by Hawthorn at the end of the 2006 AFL season. He was later selected by Sydney in the 2006 AFL rookie draft.
