As the original author of this bio substantiating Casillas' inclusion of a list of NPP leaders in another article, I suggest that proposed substantive changes be discussed in this page in order to prevent an edit war in the article's page. It is a fact substantiated by Casillas' own statements in recent WAPA-Radio interviews that he maintains a cordial relationship with members of McClintock's group and stated that "nadie puede cuestionar que Kenneth y Parga son estadistas de toda la vida". Furthermore, it is a matter of public record that Casillas' wife's son is an employee of the Senate, hired by San Juan Sen. Carlos Díaz. These are facts. Any proposed substantive changes that may violate Wikipedia policy should be discussed first in order to avoid more drastic measures. Pr4ever (talk) 02:17, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
In order to avoid this edit war I'll present my views here. I do not agree with the statements in discussion because Casillas has publicly stated that all NPP's and pro-statehood people vote against these "traitors" or "authentic" senators, including Carlos Diaz. I don't see how the relationship of a member of his family with one of this senators and the "alleged" cordial relationship with one of the senators has something to do with the Fact in question, which is that he led the movement to expell them from the party. I don't see how that fact is of any importance here. Juancro (talk) 08:49, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
I believe it's relevant for two reasons. First, because it demonstrates that, contrary to the image of a non-rational fanatic, he has the maturity of setting apart his support of party decisions from his willingness to maintain a cordial personal relationship with people with whom he has shared a personal and political relationship for decades. This provides depth and a better understanding of the true Luis Oscar Casillas. Second, revealing that a member of his family is part of the Senate NPP leadership's team demonstrates, on the one hand, that he is a practical person and, on the other hand, that the Senate leadership is not acting in a vindictive fashion. After Sunday's primary, both Casillas deep-down respect for internal adversaries as well as the Senate leadership's non-vindictiveness will be necessary elements to build the party unity that will be essential for the party's nominees to prevail in November. And thanks for sharing your views on this discussion page. Pr4ever (talk) 02:21, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
