[edit] Etymology of Lucedio

I'm curious about the name...is it taken from the location of the monastery...the larger area, or is it specific to the site? Was the are so-called before the monastery was sited there? What is the accepted meaning of the name. I can't help but ponder whether its roots are 'Luce+Dio', which would be curious for a Christian monastery, although there was a wide trend of Christianising sites connected with other eligions by building Christian churches, et cet., atop them. If the roots are 'Luce Dio', would that translate as 'Godd of Light', or 'Light of God'. The latter would seem Christian, the former not (Mithraic?). Aodhdubh (talk) 12:39, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Paranormal issues

Why is there nothing of the fact the abby was taken over by the Chruch (hence act of Pope Callixtus III I believe) due to the monks killing, torture and alleged christian Satan worship? A simple Google search brings up many, many references to this and the account of paranormal activity. The possible paranormal activity aside the fact these crimes happened there should be reported here irrelevant if it puts the monks and church in a bad, and rightfully so, light. -Peter
