Lucy Jefferson was the sister of US President Thomas Jefferson. She married Charles Lilburne Lewis. They moved to Kentucky and had a son named Lilburne Lewis, in whom Thomas Jefferson took an interest, but who later involved himself in the murder of a slave and brought the entire family into disrepute at the time of the New Madrid earthquake which also damaged their property.
