[edit] Lucifer DDKL

Before being signed to a major label, Walker released "Lucifer DDKL" highlighting his rap influence which can be seen throughout his career.

[edit] Start Trouble

Walker and guitarist Terry Case had played together in various bands since high school.[2] They had just begun performing under the name Ten High when Matt Pinfield of MTV's 120 Minutes heard a demo of "Chemical" on a local radio station.[3] Pinfield contacted the band and offered them a contract on Columbia, just six months after they had formed and a mere one day after they'd almost signed with an indie label.[4] They were later renamed Trouble Is and eventually settled on Start Trouble. Under this new name Every Solution Has a Problem was released in 2004[5]. The band would go on to share the stage with bands such as: American Hi-Fi, Fall Out Boy, Ludacris, The Early November, Evanescence, Spitalfield, Staind, Yellowcard, Acceptance, Butch Walker, The Verve Pipe, and Allister. In 2005 three of their songs were featured in the video game "Playboy: The Mansion" and each of the band members were characters within the game.[6]

[edit] Bed Destroyers

Walker and Fin were unsettled with their experiences in the music business. The duo decided to form their own group, Bed Destroyers, which more closely reflected their attitudes and own record collections.[7] The duo released "Sell Your Soul to Yourself" in 2003.[8]

[edit] The Summer Obsession

In 2004 Walker along with Bed Destroyers partner Fin formed The Summer Obsession. This time Walker put down the bass and played keyboards. The group started writing songs in the summer of 2004. They attended a Myspace party in Miami that summer where they met founder Tom Anderson.[9] Anderson loved their music and The Summer Obsession one of the first MySpace bands.[10]

In 2005 the group landed a slot on a side stage of the Warped tour. They packed up Walker's Jeep and drove from Jacksonville to Indianapolis only to find that the stage had been canceled.[11] Not wanting to return to home, the group continued driving and went to Los Angeles in the hopes of landing a record deal.[12] Times were tough as the group found themselves homeless and stealing food just to get by. After a few months of eight-hour practice sessions and countless showcases Virgin Records signed the band.[13]

In July 2005, The Summer Obsession entered the studio with producer Josh Abraham (Velvet Revolver, Pink), engineer Ryan Williams (Rage Against the Machine, Outkast). Eventually Chris Wilson joined the group and in 2006 "This Is Where You Belong" was released.[14]

[edit] Allegiance To The Fire

On October 29, 2007 Walker along with former TSO band member Chris Wilson formed Allegiance To The Fire (ATF).[15] Guitarist CJ was later added to the group.[16] Not merely a band, but a way of thinking, they focus on the power of the law of attraction and the manifestations of one's mind.[17] The group completed its line-up when Fin, another former TSO member, joined the group and they have released two EPs, "The Saliva Sessions" and, "The Downtown LA Mental Ward" both of which are available on SnoCap.[18]
