Luca del Bono

Luca Del Bono (born 12 October 1973) is a London based Anglo-Italian entrepreneur[1], most notably co-Founder Quintessentially, Founder and CEO Beat Capital.

Luca Del Bono was born in Lipari, Aeolian Islands, Italy, the son of Marco Del Bono[2] who pioneered as a hotelier on the volcanic archipelago in the late 1950's, and of Hermione Curtis. The eldest of three, his sister Melissa is a known fashion designer for Meli Melo, his brother Alessandro "Sacha" Del Bono awarded restauranter in Sicily[3]. Luca Del Bono leaving Lipari was educated from the age of eleven at the Oratory Preparatory School, Berkshire, UK, from fourteen he attended the Istituto Salesiano San Luigi in Sicily. In 1992 Del Bono entered Oxford Brookes University to study business, and enrolled in the Oxford University Officers Training Corps[4].

At twentyone Del Bono started his first venture, a Wine company under his own name, branding and selling wines across Sicily, before moving to London in 1995, working for high-end hotels. In 1997 he returned to Lipari to run his family owned Carasco Hotel and is currently a board member of the holding company S.I.A.T. (Societa' Immobiliare Alberghi del Tirreno) S.p.A.

In 1999 Del Bono joined Tom Parker Bowles and Ben Elliot to set up the global lifestyle company, Quintessentially[5], growing the brand rapidly across the globe, he was also based in New York. In 2003 with Hong Kong tycoon Sir David Tang and financer Ben Goldsmith he founded Beat, a management consultancy for the Hotel industry, expanding the business in 2005 by launching Beat Capital a firm exporting and developing Italian brands worldwide.

Del Bono has been an advisor to a number of luxury companies such as Tiffany & Co. and Harrods, as well as being a brand ambassador to Ermenegildo Zegna and Tag Heuer, he has been supporting several charities including Unicef[6]and Slow Food.

Luca Del Bono receives regular media exposure as one of the United Kingdom's most "connected" society figures.
